Because Catholic schools are only partially funded by governments, school fees are a necessity to provide quality educational outcomes and experiences for students. The continuing financial support of parents is greatly appreciated and is essential to help fill the gap between the amount of government funding received and the cost of running a Catholic school.
School fees accounts are sent home in Terms 1, 2 and 3, and they may be paid by either cash, cheque, BPay or direct debit from a savings account. Direct debit forms are available from the school office. Discounts are available to parents who have a health care card or who are in receipt of a pension. We aim to keep fees as low as possible and we offer a family discount to families who enrol more than one child. Parents who are experiencing difficulties in paying school fees should make an appointment to speak with the principal.
The school fees account includes all excursion fees and sport fees, except for the Year 5 & 6 overnight excursions, the Year 6 "Big Day Out" and any fees incurred by students who are selected for sport representation at Polding level or above. The only other times when your child might be asked to pay money would be for a charity day when they might bring along a gold coin.
The recent MySchool website findings reinforced to parents, students and their families that Catholic schools provide excellent value for money; they are doing more with less whilst still providing a high-quality education supported by quality facilities and learning environments.
For all parents and carers who desire a Catholic education for their child, the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle offers this opportunity regardless of financial situation.
The 2018 fees schedule is outlined below for a family with one child.
To assist families with limited financial resources, Catholic schools in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle offer a lower tuition fee to 'means tested' low income families such as health care and pension card holders. This rate is 50% of the tuition fee full rate for each child. This discount applies only to the tuition fee, not to the building levy or other school fees.
